Traditional Uses
Actions: Dispels heat, removes
excessive fluid and toxin, purges fire, benefits stomach, improves digestion, has
antibacterial, anti-ulcer, antiviral, anti-diarrhea, and antiphlogistic effects.

Applications: Fidgets due to extreme heat, sensation of fullness
in the chest and abdomen, thirst, diarrhea due to heat, abdominal pain, tenesmus,
hemoptysis, epistaxis, conjunctivitis, tumor, and oral ulceration. It was
traditionally used in the treatment of liver cancer, gall bladder cancer,
lip and tongue cancers.
