Traditional Uses

Actions: Supplements kidneys, nourishes yin and liver, and clears vision; has cardiotonic, purgative, and nutritive effect.

 

 Applications: Yin deficiency, internal heat, debility of the waist and knees, deafness, dizziness, palpitations, insomnia, and constipation. It is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to increase white blood cell count after cancer treatments and has the effect of inhibiting the growth of transplanted tumor cells in animals. It is good for those who suffer from liver and kidney impairment.
